Hoji-cha is a roasted version of greent tea (green tea is made by steaming the leaves)using more mature leaves. Originated in Kyoto around 1920's.
It has a reddish brown color with a unique smoky aroma and flavor.
Often enjoyed after a meal as it helps with digestion. With a very low caffeine content( approx. 0.2 g per 100g)
it is suitable to be enjoyed in the evening and aids with calming effect.
This particular high quality Hojicha is from the producers from our hometown in Kagoshima.

How to brew: For this particular tea you can use boiled water straight out of your kettle! Super easy. You can brew it a few time out of the same leaves too!
